Frankie Still Speaks Volumes From the Other Side

My mom has been in love with Frank Sinatra since she was a teenager. His music filled our living sterophonically from the first moment of childhood I can recall.
What was it that made him special to my mom and millions of other moms? Certainly his eternally youthful and handsome mien didn’t hurt. A great voice definitely contributed. A charming and sophisticated sense of humor certainly helped.
But most importantly, his lyrics were heartfelt. Frank sang happy and sad and you identified with his sentiments. No song better epitomizes why his music endures than his hit, “You Make Me Feel So Young.”
Us midlifers should sing along as a matter of habit…
You make me feel so young
You make me feel like spring has sprung
Every time I see you grin
Im such a happy individual
The moment that you speak
I want to go and play hide-and-seek
I want to go and bounce the moon
Just like a toy balloon
You and i, are just like a couple of tots
Running across the meadow
Picking up lots of forget-me-nots
You make me feel so young
You make me feel there are songs to be sung
Bells to be rung, and a wonderful fling to be flung
And even when Im old and gray
Im gonna feel the way I do today
cause you make me feel so young
